DAVE MUSTAINE: 'I Forgot How Good JIMMY DIGRASSO And AL PITRELLI Were'

November 21, 2005

MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine has posted the following message in the "Forums" section of the band's official web site:

"I am doing the weirdest thing right now. I am listening to the rough mixes of 'The World Needs a Hero' and I forgot how good [Jimmy] DiGrasso [drums] and [Al] Pitrelli [guitar] were, especially Al's mandolin performance, because I held back from listening due to the way things ended. My loss.

"Oh, well. . . .

"Someone had this crazy idea that I cut my leather pants from Argentina into 80 pieces and send one to each of the Wolves, but I dunno. It would only be the legs cuz I would feel weird sending someone the zipper. I also found and old demo song from the 'Cryptic Writings' sessions that I didn't record. I am wondering if I should show this to the guys. Either way, I fired up my ProTools rig yesterday, and even though it didn't work and the rep was rude when I called him, I am starting next week. I actually played guitar for the first time today since Puerto Rico because my hands were so sore. And I'm still listening to a lot of old stuff, as well as a song that the Drovers [Shawn and Glen, drums and guitar, respectively] sent yesterday. Not bad, in my opinion.

"Have a really good or really shitty day. Yer choice, huh?"
